9th March 2016 Early Radar and its application during WW2 and at TRE

Malvern Radar and Technology History Society (MRATHS) AGM

MRATHS recently held their AGM when they reviewed a busy and productive year and highlighted future plans.  A request to identify people in a photograph taken at North Site, probably in the 1960s, preceded the AGM itself.  The formal AGM also concluded with a mystery picture which was subsequently revealed to be an air raid shelter under EU building.  Coincidentally, the demolition of EU building started on the day of the AGM!

The AGM was followed by two interesting historical films.  The first described the early development of radar and its application during WW2 using interviews with those involved, and the second explained some of the early radar developments and included intriguing clips of TRE at Malvern College

Refreshments accompanied the usual fond reminiscences and discussions that followed the meeting.
